Jewelry Care

Freshwater Pearls

We use cultured pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels that we carefully selected for our pieces. Pearls are sensitive in nature, so don't forget to treat them with love.

925 Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver is a lightweight metal made of 92.5% pure silver. It’s highly durable and designed for everyday wear.

18K Gold Plated

18K gold plating is the process of adding a thick layer of gold onto the surface of another metal. *Due to the nature of plated jewelry we suggest following these guidelines to maintain your piece.

Caring for Plated Jewelry

Scented products such as perfume, colognes, and lotions contain chemicals that can react with plating and discolor or fade jewelry. Plated pieces can be prone to oxidation if not properly taken care of. Body chemistry and moisture can also affect plated pieces- a high skin pH balance will greatly speed up wear on a plated item.

Plated jewelry should never be worn during activities that involve water such as showering or pool/beach activities as chlorine and salt water will effect plating. When removing jewelry for these purposes be sure to store it in a dry area. Friction or contact with a hand surface can produce scratches or wear to the piece.

Gently rub your gold-plated jewelry with a soft jewelry cloth to restore its shine. After every use, clean your jewelry with a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt.

If necessary, use warm water with a mild, fragrance-free soap to clean plated items. Gently pat dry with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Most jewelry cleaners contain a chemical element that will slowly wear and fade plating over time.
